Denver-based RavenBrick (http://www.ravenbrick.com) is pleased to announce that. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued several patents to the company recently. The patents were granted for the following technology:
* Multicolor light emitting device incorporating tunable quantum confinement devices.
* Thermally switched optical filter incorporating a guest-host architecture.
*Also thermally switched absorptive window shutter.
* Thermally switched optical downconverting filter.
* Thermally switched reflective optical shutter.
This proprietary technology
Is applicable to the commercial and residential glass and also glazing products where RavenBrick delivers an industry-leading intelligent, cost effective window filter; it automatically blocks solar heat when the outside temperature is too hot, while allowing solar heat inside when the outside temperature is cold. RavenBrick smart-window filters use no electricity, wiring or control systems. They can cut building owners’ energy costs and consumption by as much as 30 percent, meanwhile making interior spaces more comfortable by reducing overheating, drafting and glare.
