Lindsey Billman and three other students from the adjacent Port Jervis High School climbed onto the roof of the Anna S. Kuhl Elementary School just before 3 a.m.
Billman and Nick Moscatiello sat down on a domed skylight above the gym, it broke and both fell more than 33 feet to the gym floor, police said.
Billman died of her injuries at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, police said.
Moscatiello was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition. School officials said two other teens did not fall.
Billman was an honor student, sophomore class secretary and played on the volleyball team, according to the school’s Web site. Moscatiello is a senior who played on the school’s baseball team.
A team of counselors will be on hand tomorrow morning at the high school to provide support.
