Location: Moody Air Force Base, GA
Project Scope: Window Design for Blast Hazard Mitigation Engineer
Details
The 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing and 23rd Mission Support Group broke where their new headquarters building will stand.
At 36,000 square feet, the unnamed $11.6 million facility will be nearly an exact replica of the Parker Green Base Support Center, but 75 percent of its size.
“A lot of time is spent designing, planning and contracting each building,” said William Bryan, the project’s lead engineer. “It’s exciting to see our plans for this project come out of the ground. Having the 93rd AGOW and 23rd MSG in the center of base instead of across base or continually relocating will also be good for operations.”
Mr. Bryan added the building will be at least LEED-certified Silver and that they are striving for Gold. The facility will also feature raised floors to allow wires to be stored under the floor.
